Aseel Technology Corporation, through its Afghan Women in Tech Leadership (AWTL) Fellowship and in partnership with Omid Foundation, seeks a Web Developer Fellow to support resource mobilization for Omid Foundation AidOS.
The fellow will work closely with OMID’s Head of Development on the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the OMID AID Marketplace, a Shopify-based marketplace integrated into OMID’s new website and developed in collaboration with Aseel.
The position is designed for a motivated young professional interested in web development, e-commerce, AI, and humanitarian innovation. The fellow will gain hands-on experience by contributing to a real digital platform designed to connect commerce, technology, and social impact.
What you need to bring:
- Develop and configure the OMID AID marketplace within Shopify in close collaboration with OMID’s Head of Development and ASEEL.
- Support the technical integration of Shopify into the new OMID Foundation website and ensure a consistent and user-friendly digital experience.
- Build and maintain product pages, collections, navigation structures, and other marketplace components according to the agreed marketplace architecture.
- Implement and test e-commerce functionality, including product listings, checkout flows, payment-related integrations, inventory structures, and customer journeys.
- Explore and apply AI-based tools that can improve web development, content management, workflow automation, e-commerce operations, and the overall user experience.
- Monitor, test, and improve website and marketplace performance across desktop and mobile devices and identify technical or usability issues.
- Assist with the continued development and maintenance of OMID’s main website following its launch, including implementing new features and technical improvements where required.
- Prepare basic technical documentation for the marketplace, including platform structure, workflows, integrations, and relevant procedures to support future maintenance.
